Curves For Women
Curves For Women is a very popular program that has clubs all around the country. It’s specifically geared toward women and their specific issues that come with their need for weight loss. It’s not always easy for women to lose weight, and Curves focuses on taking care of those stumbling blocks that women come across so that they don’t have to face them alone. This program offers one-on-one counseling, small group counseling, and personal trainers for clients, for under $250 a month for most people. It’s a health club chain that uses regular food and meal replacement shakes to create the perfect diet for every woman on an individual basis.
Curves For Women doesn’t offer an at-home or direct plan. All of the exercise, nutrition counseling, and other services need to be obtained in their clubs, which aren’t hard to find no matter where in the country you are. Curves International, the parent company was started in 1992 by Gary Heavin, who saw a need for a niche market of health clubs that tailored to the specific needs of women.
There are now more than 10,000 Curves locations around the globe in 44 countries, with almost 4 million members. If that doesn’t say something for the company’s success, nothing does. The company is the largest fitness franchise in the world, with over 7,800 operations in the U.S. alone.
Curves For Women is designed to take away the uncomfortable feeling that most women have in gyms and approach weight loss from a different standing. They focus on raising metabolism so that women don’t have to stick with a maintenance diet for the rest of their lives. You can enjoy the small, intimate setting of a Curves facility right next door to a local store or restaurant, since most are conveniently located in strip malls around the country. There is a tightly structured 30-minute circuit training workout program done on 8-12 machines, and that’s it. There is a recording that tells you when to move on in your rotation. The most convenient place in the world is highly specialized, too.
Most Curves for Women locations are open only for about seven hours a day, and there are no showers on-site. Due to this, they are widely popular to buy as franchises, and owners can then make a profit just from having as few as 200 members, which gives them the chance to do what many diet programs and weight loss centers can’t: focus on each client with care.
