Alli Weight Loss

Alli weight loss is a new option for those looking to shed extra pounds without the fear of taking unapproved OTC weight loss supplements that the FDA doesn’t recognize. Since Alli is FDA-approved (see warning below), many more people feel safe taking it than other diet supplements. It is a lower strength version of orlistat or Xenical, which is a prescription weight loss drug. It works by decreasing the amount of fat that is absorbed in the intestines, which then reduces the number of calories that you take in no matter what you’ve eaten. However, this pill is designed to be used with a low-fat, low-calorie diet and regular exercise.

Warning: Alli has recently been under a safety review by the FDA because of its possible link to liver damage.

Lipase is the enzyme that is targeted here. It works in the digestive tract to help break down fat to be stored away. The Alli Weight Loss pill disables this enzyme, which prevents fat from being absorbed into your body. The downside is that anymore than 15 grams of fat a day will cause unwanted gas, oily spotting, diarrhea, and urgent bowel movements. If it’s not being absorbed, it’s got to come out, and it will, so be careful. If you’re already cutting calories and lowering the fat content of your diet, Alli is only going to help you lose a few extra pounds on top of what you’re losing because of the way that it works.

Alli weight loss ultimately won’t be your solution to weight loss. It may be an effective tool that can add to your success when combined with diet and exercise, but on its own will not serve to make you immensely slimmer than you were before you took the pill. Plus, if you don’t change your eating habits, you will experience the negative effects of the pill because of the way that it works. Ultimately, you need to combine this OTC medication with a low-fat, low-calorie diet and regular exercise in order to see a 30%-40% increase in your weight loss.

Alli weight loss isn’t the miracle cure, but some may find it useful. Many people have had success with this pill because it has helped them to digest less fat, giving them a chance to work off more calories without adding new fuel to the fire. When you’re burning 1500 calories a day and only consuming 1000, you’ll see weight loss results. When Alli takes effect and you only digest 700 or 800 calories of the 1000 that you ate, you’ll burn more calories that you already had stored, giving you better weight loss results.
