The Lemonade Diet isn’t really a diet at all, but a twist on the classic and ever-popular Master Cleanse Diet system. It has been around for over 50 years, and essentially is a modified fasting diet that helps you cleanse your body of toxins and excess waste, as well as eliminating water that is retained by high-sodium diets.

This diet was developed by Stanley Burroughs as a detox and fasting routine that is supposed to clean the body. However, it is far more widely used today as a weight loss plan for those who need quick and easy weight loss solutions.

The Lemonade Diet is a short-term fast of sorts, and is not intended to be something that you are on for an extended period of time because your body needs more nutrition that a lemonade drink. Generally, it lasts for 10 days, and consists of nothing but a lemon juice concoction that you drink that claims to help you lose up to 20 pounds, ease pain, cleanse the body, and look younger and feel better.

This is a diet that some have used and have seen success with however, it is probably not a good thing for your body to eat such little food for such a long period of time. When you eat just fresh fruits and vegetables in a most raw state after eating a junky diet for many years, you may experience a natural detox and feel kind of sick for a few days. This is nothing abnormal and can be expected when switching from a poor diet to a healthy diet for life.

Come back tomorrow when we will cover more about the Lemonade Diet and how it all works.
