2010 Diets And Diet Plans

2010 January 7

After the holidays there is a mad rush to get back to eating right after all the extra goodies many of us consumed over Thanksgiving and Christmas (for some, the overindulging started on Halloween). The simpler way for may to diet during the beginning of the new year is to buy the latest diet book and follow along with the author’s advice.

With the latest 2010 diets and diet plans featured in the Amazon.com top 10 list in their diet and weight loss category, some look good and some look great. But you will have to decide which is best for you and your lifestyle. We tend to favor the diets that contain the most fruits and vegetables and the least amount of meat in their plans. And don’t worry about where you will get your protein on a mostly vegetarian diet because there is plenty of protein in veggies such as broccoli, beans, spinach and other green leafy vegetables.

Listed below is a brief summary of the top 10 diet books for 2010 so far as reported by Amazon. Some of these diets we have already reviewed and some are coming up for a review soon. Follow the links to the ones we’ve done for a more indepth look at that specific diet plan.

The Belly Fat Cure - Written by Jorge Cruise who has wrttten about a million books and has been featured on Oprah Winfry, Dr Oz, Good Morning America and just about every other media outlet in this country. This diet generally has good reviews at Amazon and the diet generally pushes people to avoid sugar. Some negatives are that the author also pushes expensive food you can purchase via mail order. Our answer to that is, just buy the bulk of your food in the produce department at your local store and avoid processed and packaged foods.

One thing you must remember about any belly fat diet, it is near impossible to spot lose fat from any part of your body. As you diet and exercise, fat will be reduced all over your body, not just from your stomach, butt or thighs.

Food Rules: An Eater’s Manual - A handy and inexpensive (only $5.50 at Amazon) pocket sized book that answer 3 basic questions. What should I eat? What kindof food should I eat? And how should I eat? If you think the first question is pretty basic, it isn’t! Many people don’t realize that what they are eating isn’t really food. Is that triple bypass latte you had the other day really a food item?

Eat Smart Walk Strong – The author’s previous book focused on more exercise than diet, this time the reverse is true. Leslie Sansone focuses more on diet this time. This book has been out sine January of 2006 and the Kindle version is the one in 3rd place on the list.

The Good Mood Diet - Another Kindle edition in the top 10 list (This Kindle thing is gettng big). You probably know that people eat to feel good, but sometimes we eat something that tastes good and then we feel poorly afterwards. This book features foods that make you feel good in the long run and can help you lose weight as well.

12 Day Body Shaping Miracle - Anything with miracle in the title immediately strikes and negative chord with us. Please, there are no miracle cures to weight loss. This diet and exercise plan is about working out specifically for the kind of body and metabolism you have.

UltraLongevity - In this 7 step program the purports to make you younger and healthier, the author states that it isn’t getting old that makes us eventually die, it’s our immune system giving out. Take care of your immune system and you will live a much longer and healthier life, according to Mark Liponis. This make quite good sense to us.

Cook This Not That – This book is interesting in that it tells you how to cook some of America’s favorite restaurant recipes, except in a much healthier manner. We all like to eat tasty food when we go out, but most of what we eat at restaurants is really, really bad for us. We justify this by putting eating out in the “special occasion” category way to often and end up over indulging. This book will show you the healthy way to cook those great recipes and others in the convenience of your kitchen.

Eat This Not That – Finally, we come to a diet we’ve already reviewed here at Weight Loss Diet Plans. Click on the title for the full and indepth review.

The Conscious Cook – This diet book is right up our alley. It is filled with delicious gourmet recipes that don’t contain either meat or dairy. Oprah Winfrey even said she couldn’t believe, “meatless recipes could be so satisfying.”

The Mayo Clinic Diet - Well the  Mayo Clinic certainly starts out at about 10 steps above everybody else with a diet book. I mean, who isn’t going to trust them? Our full review of this diet plan will be out tomorrow and we’ll provide a link to it then.

That’s it for the top 2010 diets and diet plans. As always, the diets we recommend the most are on the sidebar or you can find their completet reviews at Fat Loss 4 Idiots, FBF – Fat Burning Furnace or the Truth About Abs part 1 and part 2.
