Coupon For Healthy SamplesSome interesting trends showed up in Google yesterday with the announced premier of TLC’s Extreme Couponing. Everybody loves to save money with coupons, but some people go extreme and get AMAZING deals on groceries and all kinds of other merchandise. However, the big savings most people are experiencing is from saving on your food bill at the grocery store.

Extreme Couponing premiered Dec 29th on TLC and featured a lady that uses up to 500, you read that right, 500, coupons a week when she goes to the grocery store. She is known as The Krazy Coupon Lady and actually goes dumpster diving to find flyers people have thrown away. I guess to clip some 500 coupons a week you have to go to the extreme. Her real name is Joanie Demer and her last trip to the grocery store totaled more than $600, but get this, it only cost her $2.64. She’s obviously pretty serious about her couponing.

But don’t think coupon clipping is just for women, TLC featured extreme male couponer Nathan Engels who love to save oney as well. But unfortunately Nathan has taken clipping food and other manufacturer coupons beyond extreme so much so that he has more than 1,100 boxes of cereal and 300 toothbrushes stashed away in his garage. Yes, he may be saving some initial money during his shopping trips, but he isn’t saving money in the long run when he probably has some $4,000 worth of cereal and toothbrushes stashed away.

If you want to save money on groceries that’s great and when you go on a diet to lose weight, you can save that extra money to buy higher quality, more nutritious food, but when you go nuts and collect groceries just because you have an obsession, you aren’t really saving anything.

If you are into couponing, check out this deal on free samples of healthy products for your diet.
