More About Healthy Energy Bars

Generally speaking, healthy energy bars are usually not sold at the neighborhood supermarket, but at stores specializing in health food and nutritional products. It’s a sad fact that most grocery stores don’t carry a lot of food that really good for you. Organic Food Bars usually start with organic almond or cashew butter or something of the like. They come in many flavors, but also contain fruit, seeds and organic proteins.

Larabars often have only two or three ingredients, are raw and contain crushed nuts and fruit as their base. They contain nothing artificial or any chemical preservatives. This means that the ingredients have not had all of their nutrients processed out of them. Once you find a healthy energy bar that is truly healthy, they make great on the go snacks. Making bars like these are not all that difficult either. But if you choose to buy these kinds of snacks, make sure you thoroughly read the ingredients for junk that the food industry thinks is necessary to put in our nutrition.

Healthy energy bars also won’t sabotage your day by adding unnecessary calories or chemicals. Many of the best products on the market are made from raw or organic ingredients. You won’t need to wonder, are they healthy or not? They don’t have the sickening sweetness of other brands and provide plenty of fiber to help you feel full longer.

The less processed a food is, the easier your body can absorb and digest it. The chemicals stimulate your body’s hormones and often hold onto the fat, making it more difficult to reduce overall body fat, particularly belly fat. Be sure to read the labels to get the best nutritional boost from your health bar. It isn’t that hard to do and will make your weight loss a lot easier if you aren’t eating all the junk.

Healthy Energy Bar – How Healthy Is Your Favorite Energy Bar?

In our effort to be healthier and lose body fat, many of us have started grabbing meal replacement shakes or nutrition bars to help us stay away from the vending machine and drive thru windows at the local fast food restaurant. However, have you ever read the ingredients of those so-called healthy energy bars? Many health and protein bars are actually more like candy bars than a healthy snack.

You can’t read the front of the package to tell the difference in these bars because they want you to think they are actually good for you, you’ll need to read the list of ingredients on the label. Skip the beautiful natural looking farms and natural looking ingredients on the front of the label and read the back to see what kind of junk these food manufacturers are really putting in them. Once you know what to look for, you’ll see that most of them are not even remotely nutritious or even good for you.

In addition to containing a lot of sugar and artificial sweeteners and probably some kind of chemical preservative, they don’t taste good and often have an unpleasant after-taste. Ingredients are listed from highest to lowest content. If the first ingredients include corn syrup, sugar, or hydrogenated oils and end with artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners, they are no better for you than the candy bars in the machines or down the candy aisle in the grocery store. The more processed the ingredients are, the fewer health benefits they contain. Simple is best.

Healthy energy bars taste better and provides the vitamins and minerals you thought you were getting from the other bars. Many of the best health bars have just a few ingredients. Read more about these kind of bar in an upcoming post.

Geneen Roth Women Food And God Featured On Oprah Today

Is it the biggest thing to hit the weight loss industry since low fat food? Probably not, but Geneen Roth and her New York Times bestselling book, Women Food And God were featured on the Oprah Show today and she had some amazing insights to why women can’t lose weight and how they relate to food.

Every person on the Oprah show had read the book, (I guess that was a requirement to get tickets for this particular episode) so Geneen was preaching to the choir sort of, but those that end up losing weight as a result of reading the book and owning the insights in it will look back on this time on Oprah and reading the book as a big turning point in their lives.

Geneen says that once you get your relationship with food right, everything else will fall into place. That’s sounds like good advice because many women, and men as well, eat for many different reasons. Some of those reasons may be to eat just to satisfy your cravings, or to give yourself a boost because you are feeling down for various reasons, or because you may have other things in your life that you are covering up for.

For whatever reason you eat and if that eating is causing you to be overweight, the answer according to Geneen Roth is to just let go of the struggle as she did several years ago. If you forget about the struggle and eat with a healthy attitude, then weight loss will never be a problem because you aren’t using food for anything else other than to give your body the nutrition it needs.

The book, Women Food And God took up the entire hour of the Oprah Winfrey show on Wednesday and offered many tips for women to figure out why you may be eating the way you do.

Once you get the food thing right, the rest of your life will fall into line. Now, this isn’t magic because getting in touch with yourself and figuring out why you do what you do when it comes to food may be a difficult thing to go through as seen by some of the video testimonies shown on the Oprah Show. Watching some of those videos on Oprah was painful because you could just see what the women featured were going through

Many women and even men, eat to cover up things in their past so food is used as a drug according to Geneen, instead of using it to feed your body with nutritional fuel as I like to call it.

Women Food And God on Oprah

Women Food And God On OprahAuthor of Women Food And God, Geneen Roth will be on the Oprah Winfrey Show May 12th. The subtitle to her book states  that food is “An Unexpected Path To Almost Everything” and that couldn’t be truer because what you think about food and what you eat effects so many different things in your life.

Geneen is no stranger to fad dieting because since her childhood years she has gained and lost more than 1,000 pounds through various fad diet programs. She has been both obese and nearly anorexic and just about everything in between and she has some amazing advice for women, weight loss and their relationship to food.

Losing weight really isn’t some kind of secret. That answer to weight loss and your relationship to food is right in front of you. Just look down at your plate and see what’s there. What do you suppose your life is like if at every meal your plate is filled with junk? What finally cured the yoyo dieting and deep depression Geneen was going through. On the verge of taking her own life, one day she just decided to end the struggle with weight loss and food. No more shame, no more war, no more trying to fix it. She just began trusting her body and it finally clicked.

Geneen finally lost weight and wrote about her experience in When Food Is Love which made the New York Times Bestseller List. Through her first book she let women see what compulsive eating is all about and changed many lives for the better. Now, after some 30 years teaching about these subjects. She offers profound new insights in her latest book. Women Food And God is not really a diet book as many would think, it is much more a lifestyle book than anything else.

Believe it or not, your relationship with food is a mirror of your feelings about love, anger, the meaning of life, fear and even what you think about God and your relationship with him. If you have a better relationship with food, you will have a better relationship with everything else in your life. I would think that would start with God first though and not food. Anyway, we hope you can watch Oprah and see Geneen Roth and Read Women Food And God and see what you think.

What exactly is the answer to weight loss?

More Foods That Make You Fat

Back to some people who remove wheat from their diets that we talked about a few days ago. They are no longer plagued with headaches or suffer from frequent indigestion and they can lose weight. Many have also found that their skin becomes smoother and complexion issues fade. Fruit juice is also among the foods that make you fat, even though it has been promoted as being good for you. It is not the carbs in the juice that make you gain weight, but the high percentage of sugar. To process a whole fruit, leaving just the juice, removes most of the nutrients including the fiber. The result is a short-lived sugar rush that gives you energy, but without the fiber that would sustain it.

There is also a crash of blood sugar levels once the juice is digested. This leaves you hungry and craving more carbs. Whole fruits are entirely different from fruit juice. Whole fruits are more satisfying and provide your body with the nutrients it needs to sustain itself. Sugar levels are low and the fiber allows you to digest it slowly. This results in fewer calories being consumed. You don’t need weight loss supplements or gimmicks and gadgets to have fab abs. Cutting foods that make you fat, like wheat and fruit juice products, from your every day diet can help you feel better, reduce common health issues and allow you to lose weight faster.

If you are going to drink fruit juices, then at least get your juice from a real fruits that you juice yourself. You can use a conventional squeeze juicer that you use by hand or that you use as an attachment to a food processor. You can even use something like a Champion Juicer to get juice from carrots and other root vegetables. This is the kind of juice that is bursting with nutrition that your body needs.
