Lately, you can’t surf the web or turn on the television and look for information on weight loss and foods that make you fat without hearing about the latest health news breakthroughs. Anti-oxidants, phytonutrients, and superfoods fill the screens, their benefits touted with scientific research to back them up. As a result, it may surprise you to find that some of the foods that make you fat have actually been deemed healthy. We have been hearing for years that trans fats and high fructose corn syrup should be avoided,and they should however, you may be shocked to find that wheat products and canned or bottled fruit juice are not the “good-for-you” foods we have been led to believe.

Wheat products include most bagels, breads, cereals and pasta, just to name a few. They usually contain gluten. This is a unique type of protein found in barley, rye and wheat.  A significant percentage of people have some degree of intolerance for this type of protein. It has only been the last 80-100 years that wheat products have been a dietary staple. Before that time, our digestive system was used to a steady diet of a very limited amount of meats, vegetables, fruits and nuts. Some people who remove wheat from their diets for a few weeks lose weight faster and feel better than they have in years.

And canned juices, even if they state they are 100% real juice, are not really what they purport to be. Many of these juices have been processed, heated and manipulated so they no longer contain the nutrition that the real or original fruit does. Plus when you add the preservatives and so called “natural flavorings” which are really a code word for added MSG, then your healthy canned or bottled juice is really just a concoction that doesn’t do all that much for you besides add extra calories to your diet.

These meals can be expensive and may not be suited for your particular nutritional needs, so make sure you know what you are getting by doing your research before you commit to a prepared diet meal plan for the long term. If you want to lose weight you may have to get a more specialized meal plan instead of just what’s readily available for those that are only looking for convenience. Of course, you also want to have a plan once you lose the weight you need to and decide to go off your pre-prepared diet meal plan. You may not be able to afford to have someone make all your meals for you over the long run, so make sure you have that thought out even before you get started.

There are many products on the market today that claim you can lose belly fat, but is that really true. With the multitude of fat loss ebooks, supplements that claim to help you lose fat and weight loss gurus that may charge you thousands to be your personal coach, what is the real truth about getting rid of belly fat?

The simple fact is that there really isn’t any way to spot reduce fat! You can only lose it off of your belly, your thighs, your butt, your back, your legs, or any where else for that matter. You can do all the crunches you want  and work your abs to death trying to lose fat off of your belly, but it will never happen if all you do is crunches and other stomach exercises. You will probably not lose any fat from your stomach area if your do only crazy abs exercises. You may have a hard stomach by doing some of these exercises, but it will still be covered by a layer of fat.

The truth of the matter on how to lose belly fat is that you must lose fat off of your body in a steady, methodical way and then and only then, will the fat come off of your belly.
