A few years ago, low carb meals and diet plans gained widespread popularity. One of the more popular of all reduced carb plans was the Atkins Diet. In fact, it was one of the most popular diets of all time. These diets touted that weight loss could be achieved by increasing protein and fat and reducing or cutting out carbohydrates all together.

Although some people have found success in losing weight by cutting carbs on a short-term basis, it is not a healthy long-term solution. Carbohydrates are one of the three main macro-nutrients essential for good health and efficient body functions. Keeping a low-carb diet, for even a short period of time can be difficult. There are a number of companies that have certified nutrition experts who have created meals designed to contain less than 17 carbs per serving.

While experts agree that low carb meals are not the same as no carb meals, there is no one single definition of what “low carb” actually is. There is no definitive number of carbohydrates that make a diet low-carb. Theoretically, the goal of this type of diet is to replace while flour, sugar, starches, fruits and vegetables. This significantly reduces the number of carbs in your diet. Proper portions of lean entrees replace these foods. When prepared correctly they are also low in fat. In many cases, the program provides participants with customized meals that are quite expensive by the way.

Carbohydrates naturally raise blood sugar levels. The insulin that is produced as a result prevents fat breakdown, which makes it difficult to lose weight. Come back tomorrow when we discuss more about low carb diets and losing weight.

The creator of the Zone Diet is now offering his best Dr Sears weight loss tips and after reading these tips you will be wondering, how easy is that? Really, these things are not all that complicated. If you just follow some basic principles you can lose weight. One of those principles is to eat lots of fruits and vegetables because they are the most nutritious foods in existence. Your body needs fuel, not junk. If you feed it quality fuel, then you will more than likely attain your proper weight and be healthy.

But on to Dr Sears weight loss tips:

Don’t use vegetable oils – You should use olive oil instead. In fact, Dr Sears says that using butter is actually better than using vegetable oils because it is lower in omega-6 fatty acids.

Eat plenty of vegetables – Dr Sears says that Mediterranean vegetables are god because they lower excess insulin production but, any and all vegetables are great because they are bursting with nutrition.

Eat fewer refined carbohydrates – News alert, refined carbohydrates such as white flour and white sugar basically have no nutrition, so why would you eat so much of them. If you love bread, then eat whole grain breads.

Balance your plate – eat a well balanced diet consisting of low fat proteins, non-starchy carbohydrates such as vegetables and fruits and a small amount of oils such as olive oil or guacamole.

Drink lots of water – This one is a no brainer. Your body needs to be hydrated to function properly and to flush out toxins on a frequent basis. Everyone talks about this because it is so important. Don’t skip drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

Get a good night’s sleep – Your body heals and replenishes itself at night and if you don’t sleep well, your body can’t do the job it was designed to do.

See I told you these things were simple. Follow them as Dr Sears suggests and your weight loss efforts will be all the more easier.

If you want to start, Inches a Weigh Weight Loss Centers cost about $25 a week to get going. It’s about $1,200 for the year, with a $199 registration fee that is included. There are sometimes promotions for their programs, depending on where you look. The program is a commercial weight loss center chain that you attend to exercise and receive counsel on nutrition and other elements that affect your life and your lifestyle.

The weight loss program also focuses on typical food that you get from the store, and doesn’t require you to buy special products or food from them. They do offer nutritional supplements and complimentary products, though.

Inches a Weigh weight loss centers claims that they are the only existing commercial weight loss centers with facilities for exercising right there on-site. The chain is also unique from other companies because it offers counseling, shaping tools, and cardio equipment for everyone that walks in the doors. They have a retail café that sells food, low-fat nutritional products and powders of all kinds, but they aren’t required by the centers or the individual programs that people are put on. The company has a track record of 22 years in business.

Inches a Weigh weight loss centers provides a rare service that other programs can’t offer. Neither Weight Watchers nor Jenny Craig can offer everything that Inches a Weigh has. In 1986, the company was started with one center. They now have more than 60 throughout the U.S. and Canada. The company works with fewer employees, less square footage, and minimal operating expenses to keep things simple and easy, and cater to the small niche market of customers that they have. In addition, the centers are usually located in retail areas or shopping centers, and are open from 8:30 to 8:00 Monday to Thursday, until 6 on Friday, and 9:00 to noon on Saturdays.

Inches a Weigh weight loss centers have classes to offer, and you can come in up to six times a week if you want. The centers offer something for just about everyone, and are usually owned by male executives that manage the manager, but some are teams of husband and wife and some are exclusively owned by women. There is a 3-phase program including a family-oriented eating plan for phase one, an on-site figure shaping program for phase 2, and a maintenance program that is fairly lenient for phase 3. The concept was created to allow people the chance to target all the weight loss areas that are important to them, and works for many people.

If you are interested in weight loss in a less expensive way, we suggest you try the FBF Weight Loss program.

If you haven’t heard of it, In Defense of Food is a book written by Michael Pollan that focuses on getting back to the basics of eating, and how the products that people consume today aren’t even considered real food, but tasty food-like substances that are simply edible products of food science. In other words, most of the food you are buying in the grocery store and consuming are really cans and boxes full of chemistry experiments.

Pollan refers to the nation being in a state of what he calls the American Paradox: the more people worry about nutrition, the less healthy they become. Real food, food that is bought fresh, raw, and delicious and cooked in many ways to make it enjoyable and different, needs defending from the food industry and diet programs alike, according to Pollan. Unfortunately, the food industry is in bed with the government as many top level mangers from the giant food conglomerates end up in high level government positions when they retire from their respective corporations. They then end up making government healthy and agricultural policy, giving favor to their friends in the food industry.

In Defense of Food talks of all the great food of the world that people seem to have forgotten about for the sake of processed foods and convenience. When people are confused about food, they tend to follow whatever the ‘experts’ say, including falling for labels that promote ‘healthy’ qualities of processed food and products that are more chemically altered than anything you’d find on your grandmother’s dinner table. These so called experts are really only promoting the agenda of the big food corporations who don’t have a clue as to what real food is.

The book states that 30 years of official nutritional counsel has only made Americans sicker and fatter because of all of the chemical processes that now go into everyday foods and things that people eat. What all the public policy from people who were once working for major food companies does is benefit the companies instead of the nation’s health.

‘Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.’ These seven words are the mantra of In Defense of Food, where Pollan strives to explain why people need to eat good food, real food, and food that isn’t processed, chemically altered, and then thrown into a can or a box to make service quick and easy. Eating should be fun, and cooking can be too. You don’t have to sacrifice convenience and saving time to eat healthy. There are plenty of ways that you can enjoy a good meal with raw, un-altered food in a short amount of time, as you can see in many cookbooks and TV shows.

In Defense of Food is written in a way that anyone can get the point that is being put across: just eat real food, not the junk the food companies claim is food. Enjoy what you eat, don’t eat processed garbage, and find fun ways to cook with items that you can find in their natural state. Buy fresh steaks, lots of vegetables (from the produce department, if you remember where it’s at), and a few potatoes. Starch and carbs won’t kill you if you eat them in moderation. What’s more, the chemicals in processed foods that are in boxes and cans and bags can make people fatter than the food itself because it messes with the hormones of the body. There’s a lot more to learn in this book, but it seems to have some sound advice about how to eat right and love food, real food.

With all the talk about healthcare lately from the Obama administration and the debate in congress, eating real food may be a solution to the health care crisis and in Defense Of Food may help people find a better solution to the problem than nationalizing the medical industry in this country.

If you are trying to lose weight, but don’t want to eat the expensive processed foods from some major weight loss programs, try the FBF Diet Plan.

Devin Alexander has a lot of experience as a private instructor when it comes to cooking, which is probably what made a show like Healthy Decadence with Devin Alexander, which we covered yesterday, so easy for her. She enjoys helping people to realize that food is good and you don’t have to miss out just to be healthy. Devin has a bachelor’s degree in theatre, but her professional chef certification comes from the Westlake Culinary Institute. Her show has helped millions of people to realize that eating right doesn’t mean eating tasteless food, and that all of their favorites are still an option, as long as they are modified or in small amounts.

As far as we see it here at Weight Loss Diet Plans, it depends very much on how you modify your favorite foods so they still taste good, but have less calories. The rage today is to cut the sugar calories out of food by substituting an artificial sweetener for sugar. That’s nothing but bad news there. It is much better for you to put the real thing in your body instead of an artificial chemical soup.

Healthy Decadence also has a book to go with the show, allowing everyone to get the recipes that they want and the advice that they need on the go, and offering a new way to learn how Devin does everything that she does. You can take any food and make it healthy and tasty according to Devin Alexander, which is why she wrote the book and does the show. Her only goal is to share her love of cooking and food with others, and let them in on the secret that they can have what they want, as long as they are careful. Just make sure you know what you are really eating.

Healthy Decadence is a great food show on the Discovery Health channel, hosted by the one and only Devin Alexander. Her goal is to reinvent favorite foods in a manner that is healthier, by reducing calories and fat without sacrificing flavor. You can still enjoy chicken parmesan, glazed pork tenderloin, and even double chocolate brownies without having to lose the flavor, according to Devin’s recipes and suggestions.

Devin lost 55 pounds over 15 years ago and has maintained it ever since by simply making slight alterations in her food to cut the fat and calories without cutting out all of the good stuff. While you can lose weight by eating a diet such as this, you may not be getting the nutrition your body really needs. Double chocolate brownies may taste good, but are the the best kind of food that your body really needs?

Healthy Decadence is a new adventure for Devin, who started with a cookbook in 2006 titled Fast Food Fix, giving healthy versions of fast food favorites for people who struggled with diets and healthy eating because of these tempting pit-stops. She wrote the Biggest Loser Cookbook that same year, which was her second book. She has also been a food editor, culinary advisor, and written many other articles on food and healthy eating. She is the owner and executive chef of a restaurant in L.A. known as Café Renee Catering, and used to be an assistant teacher at the Westlake Culinary Institute.

Come back tomorrow to learn more about what’s called the Healthy Decadence way of eating.

The Duke Diet is rightfully named for the Duke Diet & Fitness Center Residential Program that is located in Durham, NC. The online program offers the same programs and goals for people who live out of town or who want to do their weight loss from home, giving everyone the chance to get the diet that they need. While the fitness center has been around since 1969, the online program is much newer than that. The plan is made up of four different elements which include a personalized diet and nutrition plan, an exercise program, behavioral strategies and mental counseling, and medical advice and support. All members get this guidance and support for all of their needs.

Many people who diet online seem to do better than those who go it alone simply because they understand that they’re not alone with the use of the website, which is why the Duke Diet developed its online program. The site features an interactive weight tracker, recipes, online support, and community programs like message boards and chats. Plus, there are also 16 different online weight loss tools that you can depend on. You can sign up for the diet plan for your free consultation, but after that you will have to pay the fees associated with the program in order to become a full member of the program.

The website for the Duke Diet takes care of all the issues that people might have and allows them to get the exact same diet, advice, and counseling from their home rather than having to travel or spend their days in a fitness and residential center. People have busy lives and they want to make them as simple as possible to keep up with. When it comes to diet, exercise, and weight loss, people need quick, easy, and flexible. This online diet program gives them exactly that and so much more.

The website is lacking a little information when it comes to finding out what the details of the diet are. They simply say that you get daily encouragement, a meal planner, exercises to do at home, and advice based on their proven weight loss plan. It sounds like someone is being elusive, and that’s generally not a good thing. Companies need to understand that people want to know what they’re investing in before they sign up, especially when it comes to diet plans. Other than that, this one seems to be a pretty good diet plan to consider, provided that you can figure out if it works for you before you sign up.

It seems like lately everyone has to get in on the diet and weight loss craze, including fast food restaurants. The latest fad is the Taco Bell Diet also known as the Drive thru diet. Just as Subway had a Jared who lost some 245 pounds eating healthy choices on the menu, Taco Bell now has Christine who lost 54 pounds eating supposed healthy choices off the Fresco menu.

While it is good that fast food restaurants are offering healthy choices on their menus, many (including us here at Weight Loss Diet Plans) see this as nothing more than just a cleaver marketing gimmick by Taco Bell to get more people in their restaurant. There isn’t any doubt that fast food has been, and still is, inherently bad for you. Just about everyone knows that fast food is full of salt, fat, additives, excitotoxins, msg and all sorts of bad stuff. It seems a little hypocritical that these restaurants would be trying now to get in on the diet and weight loss craze.

Christine focused her weight loss efforts on trying to limit her calories to not more than 1,250 per day and that’s what the Taco Bell Drive Thru Diet is geared around, yet some of the items on the menu such as the Volcano Nachos weigh in at nearly 1,000 calories alone. And other fattening menu items can bring an entire meal here South of the Border way over the limit of fat and salt for an entire day in just a single meal.

Because most of Taco Bell’s customers make their visit by going through the drive thru, that’s where the focus of the low fat menu items is. Visitors inside can also choose the lower fat menu items. Many dietitians are having difficulty with these so called diet menu items because they either have no nutrition or get more than half their calories from fat as in the case of the Fresco Crunchy Taco. Many of these items also have increased sodium added to give more flavor since the consumer will be eating less calories. That just tells me Taco Bell has no idea what a healthy diet really is.

While many fast food restaurants have brought many healthier choices to their menus, this is becoming a new fad to actually call these items diet food and then go on to suggest you can actually make a weight loss diet from this junk. Nice try Taco Bell, we don’t buy it, and neither should you.

If you need to lose weight, we suggest trying Fat Loss 4 Idiots instead.

The Dr Perricone Diet is actually an ‘anti-wrinkle’ diet, not centered around weight loss at all. It was written and developed by Dr. Nicholas Perricone, who found out that certain foods cause water retention and inflammation that can lead to unsightly wrinkles and premature aging, along with obesity and other health complications. The program is based on a 28 day diet that reduces refined sugars, high-glycemic (sugar) carbs, and saturated fats, allowing you to be healthier, younger-looking, and more vibrant because your body is healthy.

The trial run of the program consists of a 3-day meal plan, which many people find results with. Most feel more energized and others comment on the loss of puffiness or bloodshot eyes, and attribute it all to the Perricone Diet that they are on. The diet is very strict for the first three days, giving you full details about what you should eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, and you should eat nothing else. This program was specifically created for women who have bad nutrition, but can be enjoyed by anyone. By bringing lean protein into the diet, people will see increased metabolism, cell rejuvenation, and more.

There are a few critics of the Perricone Diet, mainly because it’s hard to find some of the food and it can be rather expensive. Wild salmon, most commonly, is the food that people have a little trouble getting their hands on. It’s expensive, and the farmed salmon is usually filled with chemicals and antibiotics that are not something you want to eat on a regular basis. The book itself isn’t designed as a weight loss plan, but many people who have followed the diet have seen weight loss in addition to their improved appearance and lack of aging.

The Perricone Diet also suggests a variety of topical treatments, which is really no surprise. They are expensive treatments that Dr. Perricone provides you with, and is simply another part of the marketing game. However, it’s not all about pushing product with this diet. The actual purpose is to get people looking and feeling younger, and to do it with sound diet advice and nutrition information that can give people that younger, more vibrant feeling back in their lives.

Every diet program is different, and while most focus on weight loss, this is one that you can count on to get the anti-aging qualities that your body needs, while losing weight is only a side effect of the program. In this day and age, too many people seek out weight loss diets, so it’s nice to see a diet that simply helps rejuvenate people and give them a healthier life.

The Cambridge Diet is a UK based diet trend that started back in the 1970s at Cambridge University. It was officially launched in 1984, and can be found all over the world today. The diet is rather simple, and is a very low calorie diet, often referred to as a VLCD. It consists of pre-packaged food products and can be found in shakes or soups (powdered), bars, and ‘brix’.

Some of the plans call for as few as 415-500 calories a day, which is less than half of the recommended amount without doctor supervision. After time passes, the calories go up, but never surpass 1,000 calories per day. This is a very low and can be considered even dangerous caloric intake. A diet such as this should not be undertaken except under strict supervision by a licensed health care practitioner.

Water is critical to the diet, because if you’re going to be depriving your body of so many calories, you at least need to keep it hydrated so that you don’t have problems with dehydration. The Cambridge Diet and all research on it explicitly states that it shouldn’t be done without the help and guidance of a licensed doctor or medical practitioner and that people in the UK can only do the diet through accredited parties if their BMI is over 25. These can be very good diets for people of all ages and sizes, but they MUST be medically monitored so that people don’t injure themselves.

During the time that people are on the Cambridge Diet, exercise isn’t an issue unless it is low intensity, because the body simply doesn’t have enough fuel to work out. Plus, fiber supplements might be required to keep people regular and eliminate the risk of constipation. You must be very careful with this diet. While it is effective, it can also be very dangerous, which is why you need to proceed with caution, and only with the approval of your doctor.

The Cambridge Diet is not readily available to the public. It is only sold through distributors, and the US version of the program provides slightly different food products than the ones sold in the UK, but everyone still needs to seek medical supervision and be careful on this diet. It’s not like a typical meal delivery diet that allows you to eat less and lose weight with their convenient products. With less than half of the calories that your body needs to run on a daily basis being consumed, you’re sure to lose weight, but who knows what else you might lose if you aren’t careful with a diet as intense as this one?

For a more sensible diet and the one we recommend most here at Weight Loss Diet Plans, try Fat Loss For Idiots.
